I see ads for the Kids Bop stuff all the time on cartoon network. I've been apalled at the concept from the moment I heard about it. When I saw that they had covered "Float On" I practically had a nervous breakdown. I agree with the reviewer on his two main gripes: 1) This pretty much kills Modest Mouse's indie reputation and opens the floodgates for similar covers. And 2) Is this really something a kid should be listening to? Isaac Brock drinks like a fish in between shows, his drummer is a mental patient doped up on illegal drugs, and their songs confront issues of morality, death and depression. I don't think it's the best material for 5-year olds to sing along with.

And yet, I'm not for a second curious as to what this sounds like. Ugh.
Man, Blogger is giving me a hard time with comments today.
I thought my post had a lot of traffic!
