Smart...s..uh..and Funny!

Yo! What’s up?

Not too much over here, I’m just getting revved up to see Love Liza.
Yep, Gabe and I finally found a show time here in Phoenix, and it’s playing at only one theater! Oh well, I’m just happy we finally get to see it. Apparently, the paper critics liked it enough to give it four stars, so hopefully we’ll see some good acting and a good story.
It’s only 2 more days until we see The Fire Theft!!!
This week I kind of strayed far from listening to whole albums as well, I was very involved in homework and writing up papers and assignments. However, I did listen to Braid’s Frame and Canvas more then once, and the same goes for Beck’s Midnight Vultures.

I’ll let you know how to the movie goes, if Philip Seymore Hoffman is smart, sexy and funny. See you later!

And the bleacher seat goes to . . .

I may find out today if I get a bleacher seat along the red carpet for the Oscars. If you missed out, the Oscar website had bleacher seat request forms. The main purpose of it was so they can background check everyone. They also tried to weed out any idiots. You had to send your form and photo ID on, I think, February 15th. It had to be postmarked ON that date, NOT by that date, meaning you couldn't send it the day before either. I stood outside Kodak Theater last year for when everyone came out. It certainly was interesting.

Yes, my additional blogger idea is coming into play. Hopefully it will be revealed by this weekend.

I'm upgrading the stereo system in my car. Should be done by next week. That's a must, especially for a music lover.

I can't seem to find out if Love Liza will be coming out soon, or if it's passed Phoenix by. Can someone fill us in? Brock and I are big fans of Philip Seymour Hoffman and need to see his new movie soon!

Sardonics and Phonics

Well folks, it looks like I've neglected to blog for a few days. To be honest though I wasn’t incredibly worried about angering our readers (which, probably amount to a grand total of 0 )
But you should know that I really wanted to, I simply haven't had enough time to post something. School's been crazy lately, especially considering that this is the week before midterms. I've got papers due and tests to study for. But I do promise that once Spring Break rolls around a week from now I'll be hitting the blog like there's no tomorrow! Or something like that...
Also, I totally spaced out The Fire Theft show on that same night. Suffice to say, it's always annoying when something like that happens, especially when both of the groups are new finds into your pallet. Oh well, choices, choices.

Sardonics and phonics aside, I did get to ride in Gabe's new car last Sunday, and that was pretty cool. It's nice, and while taking our little spin he introduced the new blog idea to me. Let me tell you folks, this new idea is so secret, so mysterious and shrouded in the unknown, that not even the president knows what we're creating. I kid you not! But you'll know about this new blog's true purpose soon enough...soon enough Georgie.

Finally, Gabe and I thought it might be helpful to put up our e-mail addresses for future reference...

Saints Come Marching In

So, yesterday was Fat Tuesday. I hope everyone had a safe Mardi Gras. But the saints I was referring to doesn't have anything to do with New Orleans and it's history. I was referring to Joan of Arc. Brock and I, and some friends, caught them Monday night at Modified. I'm not a big fan of Joan of Arc, but I enjoyed their show. I really enjoyed the opening band El Oso Negro. Unfortunately we only caught their last three songs or so because we were all sipping mochas at the Paisley Violin. A good time.

Don't you hate it when there's two good shows to see on the same night? I was hoping to catch Ted Leo & The Pharmacist Monday, the 10th, at Modified. I had forgotten, however, that The Fire Theft will also be playing. It's going to be The Fire Theft, though. Next time, Ted. Next time.

I have a new idea for a blog that Brock and I will work on. Details later.

Oh yeah, before I forget - the top 5. I just haven't been listening to very many albums lately. Not sure why. So, I will do a little something different this week. When ever I get tired of listening to all my stuff and I take a short break, I always find myself listening to Hip Hop or R&B. I know I'm not the only one! So I made a short, five song, CD with Rap songs and I'll just list those instead. I did listen to The Casket Lottery's Survival Is For Cowards and currently have Choose Bronze in the car, however.

Snoop Doggy Dog - Gin and Juice
Dr. Dre (feat. Snoop) - Nuthin' But a "G" Thang
2Pac - Keep Ya Head Up
Geto Boys - Mind Playing Tricks On Me
Ice Cube - It Was A Good Day

Peace,
